We are transforming lives through psychiatry across the country

Landry Tafang is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and board-certified family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. With over 13 years of experience in healthcare, Landry has worked in critical care, acute care, and neuro-acute rehab settings. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Missouri Western in 2014 and went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis on psychiatric/mental health from Walden University in 2023. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing sports, and reading.  As a healthcare provider, psychiatry holds special meaning for me. Landry's philosophy is to partner with each client to achieve mental health stability and help them reach their optimal state of wellness. Landry approaches each client in a nonjudgmental, honest, and empathetic manner.

Through recommended therapy and medication management, Landry's goal in practice is to assist my clients in living fulfilling lives and understanding their diagnoses. Landry uses a person-centered, interpersonal process approach to help her clients. She prioritizes her relationship with patients, believing that a strong connection is essential for successful therapy.

Landry's approach to mental health is centered around the principles of holistic healing, which emphasizes the importance of addressing the mind, body, and lifestyle of an individual. In addition, Landry supplements her approach with evidence-based interventions from dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. These interventions help clients develop coping skills and increase their emotional regulation.

Overall, Landry's approach, characterized by compassion, respect, and understanding, is designed to help clients build resilience and develop the skills they need to cope with life's challenges. Landry's experience includes working with both children ages 12 and up and adults in hospital and private outpatient settings.
